Energy equipment shipping is not standard transport, it is a project: transformers, generators, turbine blades, boilers and steel structures are usually out of gauge, and routing, permits and equipment have to be planned from the start. Edora Global Trade builds one flow from origin to site across project cargo, heavy haulage and conventional sea freight.

    The project sequence

    1. Confirm dimensions and weight. Packed dimensions govern; the manufacturing drawing and the shipping dimensions rarely match.
    2. Route survey. Bridge capacity, turning radii, overpass heights and power lines are checked.
    3. Permits. Out-of-gauge and heavy transport needs a separate permit in every country crossed, with variable lead times.
    4. Equipment and stowage. Special trailers, cranes, port equipment and a stowage study.
    5. Site delivery and offloading. On most projects the critical part is the last five kilometres.

    Which solution for which unit

    Cargo Solution Watch for
Transformers, generators Heavy haulage trailers, conventional vessel Point loads; ground bearing and crane capacity
Turbine blades, towers Extendable trailers, break bulk Length and turning radii decide the route
Boilers, tanks Break bulk or open top container Height and gauge
Panels, cables, ancillaries Standard containers Must stay in sync with the project schedule

A project usually involves all four at once, and they all have to be on site on the same date. The real work in project logistics is not moving one piece; it is aligning flows that travel at different speeds onto one calendar.

    What we offer

    • Out-of-gauge and heavy haulage, with route surveys, permits and escort organisation.
    • Conventional and break bulk sea freight, with stowage studies.
    • Synchronising road and container flows to the project schedule.
    • Customs clearance, temporary admission and transit regimes.
    • Core markets: Iraq, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and Central Asia.
    • Plant and oversized equipment move as project cargo, with route surveys and special permits arranged in advance.

    Frequently asked questions

How far ahead should project cargo be planned?

In weeks, not days. Permits, specialised equipment bookings and vessel schedules govern; planning should start as soon as dimensions and weights are fixed.

Do you carry out the route survey?

Yes, including bridge capacity, turning radii, gauge and power lines — built backwards from the site gate.

    Is temporary admission possible?

For equipment used on site and returned, yes. The regime and guarantee structure are set up before shipment.

Do you organise offloading on site?

It depends on the project; crane and offloading organisation can be included in scope. The scope is agreed at quotation stage.

How are different cargo types managed on one project?

On one calendar. Main units, ancillaries and container flows are planned to the same arrival date; that synchronisation is the actual work.

What do you need for a quotation?

Packed dimensions and weights, the piece list, the loading point, the site address and access conditions, and the required on-site date.

Send packed dimensions and the site address. We build the route back from the gate and give you the real transit time and permit requirement upfront.
