In food logistics transport alone is not enough: the temperature chain, the health certificates and the destination country’s labelling rules have to run together, or the goods stop at the border. Edora Global Trade handles dry goods, temperature-controlled products and food ingredients in full loads, groupage and containers — and sets up the documentation before the shipment moves.
| Subject | What is needed | If missing |
|---|---|---|
| Temperature | Correct equipment, data logger, unbroken chain | Rejection, insurance dispute |
| Health certificates | Veterinary or phytosanitary certificate | Refusal or destruction at the border |
| Labelling | Ingredients, expiry, producer details in the local language | Not released for sale |
| Shelf life | Minimum remaining life on arrival | Consignment not accepted |
The fourth is the one most often missed: many markets require a minimum proportion of shelf life remaining on arrival. On long sea routings that requirement changes the choice of mode.
Many food products shipped to Gulf and North African markets require halal certification and product-level conformity. Markets such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait also expect Arabic labelling. These belong on the production calendar; started after shipment, they generate storage costs.
Yes, chilled and frozen, with correct equipment, temperature recording and management of waiting time at loading and discharge.
Depending on the product, a veterinary or phytosanitary certificate, plus any analysis reports the destination requires. The list is drawn up per product and market.
Yes, in the warehouse or under bond. Printing the destination market’s label before shipment is markedly cheaper than doing it after import.
Many markets set a minimum remaining shelf life on arrival. On long sea routings that can change the mode; we run the calculation at quotation stage.
Some are. The assessment is made from the safety data sheet and the UN number, not the trade name.
Product and tariff code, temperature requirement, number of packages, dimensions and weight, production and expiry dates, pickup and delivery points and the destination market.
Send the expiry date as well. In food the right mode is chosen by asking how much life remains on arrival, not when the goods land.
