    Overview

Reliable and flexible road freight solutions across Europe, Türkiye, the Caucasus, Central Asia and the Middle East.

Edora Global Trade provides international road freight in full loads (FTL) and groupage (LTL) across Europe, Türkiye, the Caucasus, Central Asia and the Middle East. With a strong operational presence between Italy and Türkiye, we connect to Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece, and extend to Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

What actually fits in a truck

    Limit Value Note
Gross combination weight Generally 40 tonnes A higher threshold applies in combined transport
Usable length Around 13.6 metres Standard semi-trailer
Pallet capacity Indicatively 33 euro pallets on the floor Higher where cargo is stackable

These look like technical numbers and they decide the cost: a load that exceeds capacity by two pallets does not pay two per cent more, it pays for a second vehicle. When an enquiry arrives with volumes close to the threshold we say so upfront, because reviewing the packing or the pallet height is often enough to stay inside it.

    What we carry

    • FTL — full truckload, moving direct.
    • LTL — groupage, for volumes below a full load and frequent shipments.
    • ADR — dangerous goods, with approved packaging, suitable vehicles and compliant documentation.
    • Oversized and heavy cargo — special trailers, route surveys and permits.
    • Project logistics — plant and equipment shipments planned end to end.
    • Temperature-controlled cargo — where the product requires it.

Where the days are lost: the transit regime

On cargo moving from Europe to Central Asia, or through Türkiye to third countries, transit time is decided not by distance but by what happens in the intermediate countries. If the goods are imported and re-exported at every border, declarations, guarantees and waiting days accumulate.

Under a properly structured transit regime the goods cross without being imported, and the day count changes fundamentally. Since Georgia joined the Common Transit Convention on 1 February 2025, the paperwork on the Caucasus corridor has become markedly lighter.

Documents that travel with the vehicle

    • CMR — the international road consignment note.
    • A.TR — for duty-free circulation of industrial goods within the EU–Türkiye customs union.
    • EUR.1 — where preferential origin has to be proved. The difference between the two is explained on our Türkiye page.
    • T1 — under the transit regime.
    • ADR transport document — for dangerous goods, with UN number, class and packing group.

    Frequently asked questions

How many pallets fit in a full truck?

On a standard semi-trailer, indicatively 33 euro pallets on the floor, with a usable length of around 13.6 metres and a reference gross combination weight of 40 tonnes. Capacity rises where cargo can be stacked.

What is the difference between FTL and LTL?

FTL is a full truckload: the vehicle is yours and moves direct. LTL is groupage: you pay only for the space you occupy, but consolidation and distribution add days. Above a certain volume a full truck can be both cheaper and faster.

Do you carry dangerous goods under ADR?

Yes, with approved packaging, suitable vehicles and a compliant transport document. The assessment always starts from the safety data sheet, the UN number and the class.

Do you move oversized and heavy cargo?

Yes, with special trailers, route surveys and the necessary permits. This cargo has to be planned in weeks, not days.

How much does the transit regime affect delivery times?

Considerably. Crossing under a single transit operation, instead of importing and re-exporting in each intermediate country, removes declarations and guarantees. On long routings it is the variable with the largest effect on the day count.

What is the difference between A.TR and EUR.1?

A.TR shows that goods are in free circulation within the customs union, not where they originate. EUR.1 is proof of preferential origin. Some shipments need both, for different purposes.

Do you handle customs clearance too?

Yes, export and import clearance and the movement and origin documents are handled in house. Splitting transport and customs between two providers is the setup that loses the most days.

What do you need for a quotation?

Pickup and delivery addresses, number of packages, dimensions and weight, nature of the goods and the Incoterms rule. If the cargo continues beyond Europe, tell us the final destination: it changes which document should be issued.

If your volume is close to vehicle capacity, we tell you before you book. Send the routing, dimensions and weight; you get a single all-in cost, a realistic transit time and, where it helps, a packing suggestion.

    Price and quote

What drives the price, and what we need for a quote

    What determines the price

    • Route and distance, border crossings and waiting times
    • Full truckload or groupage: for groupage, pallet count and loading metres (ldm)
    • Gross weight and volume: a standard trailer takes about 13.6 metres and 33 euro pallets
    • Dangerous goods under ADR and any special equipment
    • Delivery term (Incoterm), customs clearance and seasonal truck availability

What we need for a quote

    • Pickup and delivery address with postcode
    • Number of pallets, dimensions and whether they can be stacked
    • Gross weight
    • Type of goods; UN number for dangerous goods
    • Ready date and delivery term (Incoterm)

On Istanbul–northern Italy, road via Kapıkule usually takes 6 to 9 days and Ro-Ro 3 to 4 days. We confirm the exact transit time with the quote.
